AUSTRALIA, SOUTH KOREA AND THE UK TAKE LEADERSHIP ROLES IN PROPOSING GLOBAL CRYPTO POLICY AND STANDARD SETTING REFORM
International Digital Exchange Association (IDAXA) elects new leadership as it targets the harmonization of global industry standards in 2023
[SINGAPORE, MARCH 9, 2023] During its recently concluded Annual General Meeting, the International Digital Exchange Association (IDAXA) revamped its leadership structure by electing new co-chairs from Australia and South Korea, while retaining its vice-chair from the United Kingdom.
Following a banner year under the chairmanship of Ekaterina Anthony of Crypto-Valley Association (Switzerland), IDAXA is building on this forward momentum to further bridge industry and regulators, with a particular focus on harmonizing global standards to facilitate implementation of guidelines set forth by regulatory authorities.
“I would like to thank all industry stakeholders for a very productive year in 2022, highlighted by our flagship event the V20 Summit which brought together the world’s key stakeholders in our industry and regulators from over 27 countries”, shared Anthony, “I am fully confident that the new leadership team at IDAXA will go on to even greater heights”, she added.
To that end, Loretta Joseph (Australia) and Dr. James (Jung-Hweon) Jeon (South Korea) were named co-chairs, while Ian Taylor (United Kingdom) will serve as Vice-Chair for a second consecutive year.
Joseph currently sits as Chair of The Australian Digital Finance Standards Council (ADFSC), one of IDAXA’s newest association members, while also serving as Vice-Chair to the Australia Davos Connection Forum (ADC Forum) Advisory Group. Globally recognized as an influencer in the space, she specialises in advising Governments on Virtual and Digital Asset regulative and legislative frameworks for AML/CTF, Prudential and Securities sectors. She has previously advised OECD and OSCE on digital assets and their impact in AML/CFT and securities law.
For his part, Jeon concurrently serves as the Chairman of the Global Cooperation Committee of Korea BlockChain Association (KBCA), while also sitting as chairman of the Digital Finance Center in aSSIST University's Business School. He is also a member of the OECD Digital
Economy, Technology Innovation, Education committee within Business at OECD (BIAC). With
25 years of experience bridging traditional and digital economies, Jeon has worked with Academia and both Public & Private sectors in Fin-tech, Blockchain, Virtual Assets, NFTs, STOs and the Metaverse towards a balanced regulatory approach between industrial promotion and investor protection.

Meanwhile, Ian is board advisor of CryptoUK (CUK), the United Kingdom’s trade body representing more than 150 companies from across the UK digital asset sector, leading the organisation and its strategic policy initiatives to ensure the voice of the community is heard at the policymaker level. Ian possesses more than 20 years of experience in capital markets and fintech, with a depth of expertise within financial markets and disruptive technologies. ****
